Digital Radiography

Digital Radiography

Instead of X-ray film, digital radiography uses a digital image capture device. This gives the advantages of immediate image preview and availability. Less radiation is used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography. X-rays are a valuable diagnostic tool frequently used to diagnose bone fractures, heart, lung, or bowel diseases, and dental diseases. Advanced Animal Care of Mt. Pleasant uses digital imaging technology to help detect anatomical abnormalities either with radiographs or in-house ultrasound. Digital imaging technology allows us to review the resulting images quickly and send them electronically to referral specialists or to a board-certified radiologist for additional review. Sedation may be required to help reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in our patients.
